At Lakeland College we encourage our students and staff to be active.
With facilities, classes and intramurals on both campuses, you will find something to do either on campus or nearby.
You can:
- check out facilities in our virtual tours as well as the perks your Lakeland student ID provides
- stop by the gym in Lloydminster or the rec centre in Vermilion for more information
- email recreation@lakelandcollege.ca with questions or ideas about activities
On campus
- Our gym is often busy with Rustler athletics practices and games.
- Our weight room is tucked away behind the gym.
- Regular hours are Monday - Thursday 10 am - 9 pm.
Off campus
If you are a full-time student who attends classes on the Lloydminster campus, you have access to nearby facilities.
Servus Sports Centre — Take your student ID to the Centre’ administration desk (5202 - 12 Street). Your name will be checked on a list we provide every semester. Once confirmed, you can purchase an access fob for $5 plus GST for the academic year.
You have full access to the walking track, weight training area and field houses until the field house is booked. You also have access to the small skating area when it's open for public skating. Check their website for hours of operation.
Next door to campus is the Bud Miller All Seasons Park (2902 - 59 Avenue). The park is open from 7 am - 11 pm year round. For more information call 780 875 4497.
Besides walking, hiking and cross country ski trials, the park facilities include ball diamonds, sand volleyball courts, tennis courts, mini-golf, lawn bowling, horse shoe pits, skateboarding and paddle boats.
The park is also home to the Bioclean Aquatic Centre (2902 - 59 Avenue). You have access to public and adult fitness swim times using your picture ID. Go to the pool's website for a monthly schedule.

On campus
Vermilion's recreation centre is the place to keep energized throughout the year.
The Colonel Cormack Recreation Centre on the Vermilion campus is a busy place seven days a week. Our facilities include:
- gymnasium
- fitness centre
- pool with hot tub
- squash and racquetball courts
The recreation centre is open 7 days a week
- Monday - Thursday 6 am to 10 pm
- Friday 6 am - 9 pm
- Weekends 10 am - 6 pm
- Closed on statutory holidays and other times when the college is closed

As a student, your access is your student ID. There are a number of other benefits:
- 15% discount on fitness classes
- no additional cost for the fitness centre, weight room, gym and courts
- use your ID to borrow racquets and other equipment
- access to the pool (except family swim unless you have children)
