What is D2L?

D2L Brightspace is Lakeland College's learning management system. More simply, D2L is a place for learning.

Each course has its own D2L shell, where instructors may upload course notes, provide spaces for assignments, quizzes, and grades, and offer other important resources for the class.

Who uses D2L?

D2L is used by most programs — on campus students and online courses, dual credit, continuing education, pesticides certification, and even most of our trades apprenticeship programs use D2L. However, if you are enrolled in carpentry or electrical, you will be using the Mobius system.

Before you sign in, do a systems check. It is recommended that your browser be up to date.


Note:
 Your D2L account won't be available until your course starts. If you are full-time on campus students that's after registration day.

Single sign on (EDU)

Use the EDU button if you're:

  • a full-time student
  • an online student

Other D2L user log in

D2L Sign on (Non-EDU)

Use the Non-EDU button if you're:

  • staff
  • apprenticeship (except carpentry/electrical)
  • a dual credit student
  • a continuing education student
  • pesticides

If you want to know more

EDU students use their full email as their usernames (firstname.lastname@edu.lakelandcollege.ca).

If you have a common name, for example Anna Jones or Michael Smith, you may also have a number added to the prefix.

Your first-time password is LLC!####. The 4 numbers are the last 4 digits of your student ID.

If you have a problem signing in the first time contact our IT department by emailing client.support@lakelandcollege.ca. To get your username or change your password, visit the IT department on your campus with your photo ID.

Please note: Your instructors recommend you use your Lakeland edu email address for all college-based communications. Check out all the benefits of your Lakeland edu email.

If you are a new student, your D2L account isn't active until your course starts. For full-time students, that's usually after registration day.

  • laptop, tablet or mobile device
  • the Brightspace Pulse app - available from the Apple store or Google Play
