To work with real clients, you need the right skills and spaces.
Our health and wellness programs provide that with:
- a campus day spa
- a hair salon
- nursing labs with modern equipment and technology

Esthetician & Clinical Esthetician
As an esthetician student you’ll build your resume in our campus spa.
Whether it’s a manicure or a massage, skin treatment or makeup application, you’ll put your skills into action.
And it’s not just about your esthetic skills. You, and your classmates, also learn the business side as you manage appointments and deal with clients.
Plus, you’ll have the chance to compete in provincial skills competitions.
If you choose to add clinical, you’ll use a laser and other specialized tools and procedures for a variety of skin treatments. Again, you’ll practice your skills on real clients.
Manicures and pedicures both involve
- shaping nails
- cuticle clean up
- massages—hand/arm and foot/leg respectively
- applying polish
Dermaplaning's purpose is to reduce scaring and skin imperfections by revealing newer undamaged skin.
You'll use a scalpel to remove the uppermost skin layer.
Barber & Hairstyling
It also takes practice to become a professional hairstylist.
As a hairstyling student, you’ll perfect your skills and be on trend with each client you style.
Beyond the sink and chair, you’ll manage appointments at the salon and consult with your clients.
Showcase your skills – and even win like past students – in provincial and national skills competitions.
A beard trim involves reducing or reshaping facial hair using tools such as clippers and scissors.
Shampoo and scalp massages can stimulate hair follicles. Plus, it feels great for a client.
Health Care Aide
Master client care and comfort in our modern health care labs.
Working with your classmates, you’ll develop vital skills for an essential health care service.
You’ll put what you learn to use in 3 practicums, 320 hours in total. These are full-time practicums that could involve shift work – just like the real world.
With each practicum you complete, you’ll gain valuable experience, make industry contacts and may even line up a job.
Learn how to take patient pulse rates and count respirations.
