Pesticide application certification is divided into classes.
Each class is for a specific type of application as well as what the pesticides is used to control. Details are outlined below. For more home study course information, please visit our home study page.
All training starts with a core, then has specific lessons for each class. Home study training materials are grouped by these classes. Or, if you are adding a classification, you just purchase the particular lessons.
Further information:
- You must be a certified structural pesticide applicator for 2 years before you can take the fumigation classification.
- The stored agricultural product fumigation classification is a subset of the fumigation classification. The structural certification isn’t required. However, fumigation is limited to agricultural product pests in grain bins, elevators, rail cars and trucks.
- The industrial classification includes herbicide applications to parking lots and landscaped areas surrounding industrial facilities to control designated noxious and restricted weeds.
- The landscape class includes herbicide application to parking lots and roads for control of designated noxious or restricted weeds within urban areas, but doesn’t include brush control.
