Pre-employment programs all have individual learning modules (ILMs) as basic texts. You pay for them as part of your tuition.
Each drop down lists the supplies you need. Not required, but useful, is a laptop or notebook computer.
When you choose your work boots, look for the CSA green label.

Protective equipment and supplies:
- CSA (green-triangle) work boots
- safety glasses
- three three-ring binders
- coveralls recommended
- laptop or tablet is recommended, not mandatory
- textbooks (ILMs) are included in tuition cost
- notebooks, pens, pencils and highlighters
- lock for locker
Stationery is also available at the bookstore.
Required supplies:
- two 3-ring binders (3 - 4"; letter size)
- highlighters, pens, pencils, loose leaf paper
- metric hand tape measure
- cabinet scraper
- Casio FX-260 solar calculator
- one padlock (for locker)
- safety footwear (CSA approved; steel toe and shank)
- safety glasses (CSA approved; non-tinted)
Note: all of the above supplies (excluding footwear) are available at the Lakeland College carpentry shop and bookstore.

- leather welder's gloves suitable for GMAW & FCAW (gauntlet type)
- one welding hat or beanie
- CSA (green-tagged) approved safety toed boots
- approved safety glasses prescription glasses, hardexed or plastic complete with side shields
- welding goggles or shield for oxy fuel cutting, #4 or 5 shade (to fit over safety glasses)
- welding helmet #10 shade, and clear lenses for welding helmet
- MIG pliers
- 2 pairs vice grip pliers
- soap stone
- tip cleaners
- calculator (Casio fx260) - available at Lakeland College Bookstore
