Please allow 2-4 business days to process your request.
The provincial (Alberta) Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) has been in force at Lakeland College since September 1, 1999.
This means that our staff can by law only release marks to the student.
It also means by law that a student's medical information and residence room number also can't be released to anyone but the student.
We have had situations where a parent has come to surprise their student and we were unable to provide them with a room number. So, before you visit, make sure that you have the right room number.
You can be given access to information if your student agrees. Your student can also request that their personal information not be disclosed in certain circumstances.
Students must fill out and return the Consent to Disclose Information form in order for any of their personal information to be disclosed to you.
You need to have your SALC Benefit Card.
You can download it from We Speak Student site. The benefits card is available for download under Booklets. Or, pick it up at the SA office on your campus during your coverage year.
Your benefit card provides the correct information needed for direct transactions at pharmacies and processing electronic claims at dental offices registered with the insurer's direct payment system.
When you get your card, sign it and fill in your student ID number in the space on the card's front. Make a claim by either:
- filling out the claim form found on WeSpeakStudent and mailing it to Claim Secure (address found on claim form)
- using the ClaimSecure app. Check the instructions for downloading and using ClaimSecure eProfile.
You may be able to bring your horse to school. There’s space to board horses at Lakeland College.
The Rodeo Club offers spaces for Rodeo team and club members.
Due to limited space, the equine and rodeo operations manager will create a priority list. The manager has the right to designate and change penning/stalling throughout the year. Priority will be given to students who compete on the intercollegiate rodeo team.
To be considered, you’ll need to complete and return one of two application packages before Aug 1 of the upcoming school year.
1. Rodeo team application package– includes the horse boarding form with health protocols, an application to join the intercollegiate team and an Equine Centre Liability form
2. Rodeo club package – includes the horse boarding form and Equine Centre Liability form.
All forms are fillable PDFs. Online signatures are accepted. Return by email or mail to Lakeland College Rodeo Club, 5707 College Drive, Vermilion, AB T9X 1K5.
Boarding fees per horse are as follows:
- Outdoor pen with feed $1,100 per semester
- Tie stalls $1,200 per semester
- Box stall $1,300 per semester
- A turnout pen is included in all stall prices.
Once you commit to a spot, you are required to pay the full semester’s boarding fee.
All the details about getting a Lakeland College transcript are on our request a transcript page.
If you're an apprentice, please access your MyTradesecret account or contact Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training at 1 800 248 4823.
Review the Student Grievance and Appeal procedure found in Student Policies and Procedures prior to completing the form.
Once you understand the procedure, you'll better understand what you're filling out.
The form can be accessed from the Student Policies and Procedures document.
You may need one of the following forms if you make changes to your student status. All of the forms are interactive, so you can fill them in and then print, or simply download and print. Some will require signatures, so will need to be printed and signed by you, as well as others.
Before you fill out a form, you should talk to an academic advisor or department chair. Also check the academic schedule to make sure you don't miss deadlines.
